We are a group of adult mentors and High School students who get together as a team to design and build robots within a six week time frame. Once the six weeks are over, we will bag and tag our robot with the anticipation of being able to meet up with 40 other teams to compete in a arena setting, to use the robot in a skills competition. As a group we educate both the public and students about Science and Technology through FIRST. Our group also works with Junior High School students to teach them about Science and Technology through Tetrix/Lego Robotics FTC program and prepare them for the High School team.
Some of the schools in our area aren't lucky enough to have a Robotics Program, and the schools that do, generally, do not accept students from outside their school. With our Robotics Program we accept students from any school including home school, as long as they follow our rules of respect for others, respect for safety and respect for tools. They must also have a passing grade in school and the desire to work with others in a friendly, fun atmosphere.
